The Environmental Defenders' Office (ACT) is an incorporated association which is governed by the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW).
EDO ACT maintains a small number of staff who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organisation.
Stephanie Booker, Principal Legal Officer and CEO
Stephanie Booker is the principal legal officer at the Environmental Defenders' Office (ACT). She was admitted to practice in 2006 and has spent several years working with communities overseas, seeking to protect the environment from large-scale mines and infrastructure projects. She has an interest in Community Legal Education, and has a Master of Law (Human Rights) from Monash University.
Nicola Silbert, Policy and Communications Lawyer
Nicola has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Science from Monash University. She has experience in NGOs and the environment movement, including working for NGOs based at the United Nations in both Geneva and Vienna. Nicola was admitted to practice in 2018.
Jason Parsons, Administrator
Jason has had a long standing interest in financial work. He joined the Environmental Defenders' Office (ACT) after a successful career working with small businesses.
The committee of EDO ACT sets the strategic direction of the organisation. Members of the committee are elected by the members of EDO ACT each year at the Annual General Meeting.
